NEEDS A HOME

PETS LOOKING FOR A HOME

It was a natural progression when I got into enforcement to become the local animal care facility for lost and found pets in the area. Municipalities are required by law to hold a pet for 72 hours or 3 business days to allow an owner to be found.   Although I do my very best to find the owners of these pets there are times when an owner does not come forward. When a pet is not claimed by their owner, I ask the municipality to sign ownership of the pet over to me.  I do my best to have the pet spayed/neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and dewormed.  These funds come directly out of pocket which is why I ask for adoption fees to help recover some of the costs.

HOW DOES ADOPTION THROUGH THE SAMMY'S PET SERVICES WORK?

To adopt a pet through Sammy's Pet Services there are certain procedures that take place.  First you must fill out an adoption application.  Once it is reviewed I will go over your application with you.  If I feel you are a good match for one of these lovely pets a meet and greet will be arranged. In some cases adoption fees may be waived.  In lieu of adoption fees in these cases, please consider a donation to help cover the costs of any vet bills, food and care while the pet was here. I usually leave it up to the adopter the amount they are able to donate.  On an average vaccines and deworming at the minimum around around $70-$80.     If I have already done all of the vet work prior to adoption there will be a set fee according to the amount of the vet bill.  All funds go towards vet fees to help cover the costs of vaccines and spay/neuter and care. Please see full details of fees at the bottom of the adoption application which you can download below.

It is not necessarily first come first serve.  It is in the pet's best interest to be placed in the most suitable home.

All dogs adopted through me also receive 1 free grooming session.

BARN CAT PROGRAM

From time to time I am asked to assist with feral cats when areas start to get over run.  Cats are live trapped and taken to the vet for examinations and spay/neutering.  There is no adoption fee for barn cats however I ask that you do consider making a donation towards the cost of their vet bills or pet supplies to help continue the care of others that may come through the doors.
